I could’ve worded this better so if you want me to try to better clarify any points just ask. xuchu 14 years ago 1 i just realised that i had the free the obsidian suit downloaded a long time ago and just installed it. ![]() This would lead me to believe that a stronger non-folding helmet would be much more ideal for working in more hazardous environments (falling rocks, awry machinery, etc.) and folding helmets would be more ideal for possibly less hazardous environments, such as (maybe) the Sprawl (or space, or an ice planet.)Īnyway, my guess is that the folding helmet technology was available for all suits since they began developing them 200 yrs ago, (which is why it was used for the SCAF and Vintage suits) but the crew of the Ishimura chose to use more durable, bulky helmets that offered more protection over the folding ones, simply because it’s ‘the right tool for the job.’ I also think that a solid built, non-folding helmet would have much more structural integrity than a folding one. The Ishimura was a ship was made for cracking fucking planets open, which I assume would be a much more hazardous environment for any engineers/miners working on the planet, compared to those working on the Sprawl, or in space, or on an ice planet. Let’s assume that the engineering suit from Ds2 is exclusive for engineers on the Sprawl. ![]()
